Sandra L. Koch

My Story

Sandra Koch is the founder of Aurora Consulting Group, LLC. Sandra has been in the financial field since 1997. Starting with a Tax Preparation Certificate from HR Block, her first job was with a small town CPA in the heart of Colorado. Sandra went on to freelance and grew a thriving Colorado practice supporting small businesses in construction, hospitality, and the greater service industry.  

In 2004, Sandra tried her hand as an employee and served as the controller of a luxury real estate firm until 2008 when she returned to accounting for small business clients. In 2011 Sandra formed Aurora Consulting Group, LLC.

While building Aurora, Sandra studied at Western Governors University and earned her BS in Accounting. She then went on to earn her MBA in International Business at Fresno State. Sandra has worked as an accounting instructor at Milan Institute and is an AICTC Certified Tax Coach. Sandra is also Quickbooks Online Advanced Certified and a member of CSEA / NAEA. Sandra is a federal Enrolled Agent holding a license that enables her to represent clients in all 50 states and US citizens living abroad.  

In her spare time, Sandra dabbles in the hospitality field, previously running a vacation rental and a wedding venue. Currently she hosts two Airbnb rooms in her home. She is also involved with The Source LGBT Center and a founding member of StartUp Grind Fresno.

Sandra’s hopes for Aurora to get involved by developing the local business community through retreats, meetups, and conferences. She wants to support all those venturing into this lifestyle of entrepreneurship to be successful business people. In Sandra’s free time, she enjoys road trips, cooking and baking, backpacking, kayaking, stand-up-paddle boarding, and everything to do with the outdoors. Sandra also enjoys spending time with her parents, brothers, 6 children and 3 grandchildren.
